Bryce 5 :

Light Gels

Using Images as Shadows

In Bryce 3 D, it is a very easy matter to 'project' images as shadows by using the image as a gel on a parallel light.
The completed image worked in Bryce 5 and saved as a .jpg for the October Challenge
1.This is what the above image looked like in its wireframe view in Bryce. The very large yellow objects are the lights projecting the horseman and the trees on to the side of the church building. 2. This is the beginning of a reenactment of the construction of the above scene with the gel lighting being the main topic. This image is of the side of the church with a plain parallel light.
The actual image showing the lights, in yellow, used to create both the lighting and the shadows. The church side without the gel on the light...
3. The next image show the selection of the tree photo from the image browser in Bryce. It is as simple as choosing the bitmap image from the inside of the Lighting Lab! 4.Inside the light lab, with the Gel choice selected, and the tree chosen, you can see that the tree is now being projected by the light
Selecting the tree as the gel in the Bryce image browser... The light lab with the tree chosen as the gel...
5. Now, back to the workspace where the light can be maneuvered until it projects the 'shadow' exactly where you want it to play! Be prepared to spend a little time and have some fun with 'projecting' your shadows!
