Week 4

Good time again with Week 4! I spent much time experimenting with the lighting and really liked using three radial lights each reduced to 8% which allowed the light to be spread nicely over the area. I also got into really using the dials for the tree lab! I am happy to know about how to get to all those pre-sets, too. Funny, though, that the winter Maple Tree has leaves on it! Not so around here where I live. So, I had to defoliate it immediately to fit into my winter pine forest.

The forest needed a snowy terrain to complete the idea I had in mind. So, I created a terrain, then used the terrain editor in order to turn it into a bit of a slope, and then covered it with snow. I had a bit of a problem, I thought, with there seeming to be a lot of white specks in the pine trees and spent considerable time editing the material. I noticed that once rendered all that pixelly look seemed to be gone.

Finished render, post edited in Photoshop CS3 by illuminating the stars that were there, but dull, and some color correction. I added an old fashioned sled in Photoshop.
