This is the continuation of the Dreamweaver study I began last spring at LVS with Althea Fox. I have been delighted with what a jumpstart the lessons had given me and am continuing to build on the good foundation that Althea set for us last course. Will be always grateful!

The links below are to the 3 web documents which were given as exercises for applying CSS styles. I will confess to having a bit of a struggle with the second document, but that was because I didn't read far enough ahead to see that the text was going to be centered until fixed. I kept thinking I had done something wrong and repeated the exercise many times...The only good thing about that is that I got a lot of practice in!

Favorite things? Well, learning all about Snippets and what goodies are buried there. I used a Snippet for the menu bar for this page. There it was...just waiting to be used at a time like this and now I see there are lots of useful things there, already made!

Other important ideas:

  • Find and Replace
  • Clean up xhtml
  • Linking the style sheet
  • Getting rid of unneeded styles
  • Vast supply of styles that come with DW, waiting to be customized

The following links to the work will open in a new window which you should close after viewing.

This page does not pass the validation at W3C and I think it is because each button has an id and an id is only to be used once on a page. Because I had more than one button, I violated that rule. I am going to leave it, for now, as it is.
