The Painting

The photo of the painting was taken at the Rhode Island School of Design Museum. Visitors to the museum are allowed to photograph the art work if they do not use flash. Also, any recent (perhaps 1950's and upward) art work is restricted from being photographed.

I did not photograph the description of this painting and so cannot tell the artist. It is extremely large and hangs in the great hall at RISD museum. Can you see the area from which the left body border was made?
