RISD Museum as Theme
The Rhode Island School of Design Museum is home to a wonderful collection of art works from ancient to contemporary.
"The RISD Museum houses over 80,000 works of art, ranging from ancient Greek and Roman sculpture to French Impressionist paintings, from Chinese stone and terracotta sculpture to contemporary art in every medium, including textiles, ceramics, glass and furniture. It also serves the general public with a full schedule of special exhibitions, lectures, tours, concerts and other programs. The Museum’s collection is displayed in 45 galleries on three floors, tracing the history of art from antiquity to the 21st century."

I have taken many photos there (use no flash when shooting and capture works before the 1950's) and used them as basis for work in Photoshop. "Morning Star", a statue by Thomas Cra
wford (note the description information in the original photo to the right), was masked in Photoshop and then placed on a background which was created in Adobe Illustrator.
At the museum, the statue is displayed between two windows, the light of which causes the statue to appear as if illuminated from within. It is a breathtaking sight!
There are other works of art that I have manipulated, perhaps even mutilated a bit with Photoshop! As I use Photoshop on some of these masterpieces, I am really humbled to realize that these artists had no undo!

Early Out of Bounds...a combination of several paintings and artifacts from the museum. Again masking and selecting with Photoshop. This page is a good comparison to what I know now in Dreamweaver!
RISD Meets Bellevue Avenue
On the same day that I was at the art museum, we drove later to Newport where a shop had these dresses on the sidewalk. I photographed them and then used them with the cropping from the painting seen in Crop.
If you should ever get to Providence, a visit to the Rhode Island School of Design Museum should be high on your list!
About Week 4
I like the idea of being able to change images in Dreamweaver although I do the initial optimizing in Photoshop. When design seems to need a change in image size, or a cropping would make things better, nice to know it can be done natively!
