This week the concentration was on Water Color Brushes. It has not been an easy week, but I do feel as if I have gained a great deal in understanding Painter, not just the Water Colors (will probably always struggle with them) but so much more about the Brush Creator. I cannot begin to paint in Painter without using it and I know that that is a good habit for me. I have also made things a bit easier by creating a Custom Brush Palette. And, a New Color Set from the photo!

I did download TreePad for keeping some notes about brushes and the changes I make to them (and whatever else needs to be remembered). Tree Pad Lite I also used the Layers Attributes notes section to write some of the things I may have done with a particular layer.

I was very relieved to find the choices in the sub categories for some of the brushes! And, for those that did not have the sub categories available, I found that by choosing Static Bristle for the Dab Type, they would become available. I liked having the Wet remove Density. I suppose it was more like an eraser for the brush, but I did find it helpful for 'applying' white, revealing the sub colors, too (probably not the right way to describe it, though).

The painting I am submitting as my homework is not the only one I have done this week, but it is the only one that I feel is acceptable for showing. I based it on my photo of a lilypad from Blithewold Gardens in Bristol, Rhode Island.
