Pen and Ink
Final Exercise, Painting a Mountain Landscape
The Pen and Ink exercise really demonstrated the use of a recorded stroke. It is a simple matter of clicking record in the menu on the brushes palette and then doing a 1 stroke squiggle or drawing. You can then choose to play back the recorded stroke so that when you touch the stylus to the canvas, it will paint the recorded stroke. A good use for this kind of auto painting would be in pen and ink hatching. If one uses Windows>Show>Auto Painting, you can have a bit of control over how to the stroke will be applied. Also, changing the brush or the parameters of the brush you are using, there can be some variation in the stroke.
I was thinking that there is some similarity in using a captured dab. The difference, I believe, is that there is far more control over how a dab can be applied.

Mountain Landscape
I am not so happy when painting landscapes, possibly because I feel my inadequacies in doing so. I did persevere and finish this mountain scene. It was done with Acrylics with some assistance from Distortion brushes.
Thank you, Karen, for a great course on Painter Brushes...I feel quite proficient even though there is a vast amount of things I still need to learn about these brushes...now including the new brushes, Real Bristle, in Painter X!
