The Photos for Week 5
Macro and Low light
I love macro shooting and probably push the envelope for getting close to a subject. I am amazed at some of the details I don't see, when looking at a scene, that are captured with a macro shot. The fuzziness of fabric, the insect inside a flower, the world reflected in the orb of a dewdrop, the pollen on a bee's legs and the fuzziness of its body are things that make me say 'Wow!' when I look at my macro photos on the computer.
My camera has 2 settings for Macro:
Holding the button down allows the camera to really clear up the image in Macro mode and gives a good DOF.
I rejected most of my night time shots because the colors were rather distorted and sometimes the scene was with a yellow overcast. I did experiment with Exposure Compensation and found it helpful with color correction.
The bee at the left was photographed in 2004. It is probably one of my lucky shots that the flower and bee were centered, the bee in a good position to see its details.

Camera Discoveries
I found that my camera has a framing mode which provides the Rule of Thirds. I like it and will use it. Also discovered for more HD photo work...Auto Bracket which will shoot the same subject/scene with variations in exposure which I can set up.
