Butter Sculptures at The Big E

September, 2003

The Eastern States Exposition is held each September in Springfield, Massachusetts. The description below is from the Big E home page.

"For 17 days each September, we are proud to produce the nation's ninth largest fair, The Big E, right here on our grounds in West Springfield, Massachusetts. The Big E is also the largest fair in the northeast with participants and guests that come from along the eastern seaboard as well as throughout the country."

Each year I love to see and photograph the butter sculptures.

This year, 2003, I was able to meet and speak with the sculptor, Jim Victor. He was working at the sculpture, but came out of the chamber to sit and relax for a bit on the afternoon we were there. I was very happy to be able to tell him just how much I enjoy seeing his butter sculpture each year. You can see more of his work at his site.
