Newport
This is a photo taken last summer while browsing some shops in Newport after a wonderful ride on the Providence to Newport Fast Ferry. The boat leaves the wharf in Providence at 9 AM and sails up Narragansett Bay, then under the Jamestown Bridge and on to Newport. It takes about 2 hours for the ride. Because of costs, this service to Newport, and back to Providence, will no longer be available.
Once in Newport, there are many shops to visit and many fantastic restaurants in which to have lunch. The problem is deciding which one! That day, we had lunch at the Clark Cooke House.
About this image....in the lesson it said to use a thumbnail and a full sized image. It also said that the picture of the chickadee was displaying the upper corner of the image. However, after staring and re-staring at it, I decided it was just showing the thumbnail and not the upper left corner. I happen to like the mystery of seeing just the upper corner and then having the zoom reveal the full image.
Why does that work? Well, I think because the image size in the first state is of a thumbnail size and the placement of the image shows the corner. In the second state the fullsize is given and the image zooms out to fill that when hovered over. It is also a link to itself. I was confused by the wording on this part of the lesson, but I do like the result!
