Animations
The May, 2004 Art Challenge at myJanee.com was all about animation...animated .gifs and .swf Flash animations. It was a great opportunity to learn more about animation using Photoshop ImageReady and (for me) Adobe LiveMotion

Flash Animation Artistic Animated GIF Artistic Emoticons Ad Banner (small) -Ad Banner (large) Ad Banner (E-Places.net & myJanee.com) were the categories with each entrant being allowed 3 in each. I was not able to get all 3 in each category accomplished, although I had wanted to do that!

Below are my entries, my award picture and thank you note for my winning entries. Please click on a thumbnail to view the animation in a new window (except for the emoticon!).
Frog with an eye that opens and closes A butterfly from Niagara Conservatory...moving wings A Canadian Goose from Cedar Pond! The frog and butterfly were created in Photoshop CS and ImageReady. The Cedar Pond goose, after some preliminary work creating the alpha image in Photoshop, was animated in Bryce 5.
This little Emoticon was probably the most difficult!
This, and the animation just below (with butterflies) were created in ImageReady and Photoshop. I sampled colors from Janee's site for the ad for Janee. It was a winner!.
Another banner ad done in ImageReady, using the Shape Tool to create the objects.
The last three are Flash animations done in Adobe LiveMotion which is no longer being sold by Adobe. " The Car" was the winner ! Clicking on the thumbnail will open the .swf movie in another window. I fa message appears about the .swf viewer, click yes to view anyway...most browsers have that capability,

Thank you so much for liking my animations enough to vote them as winners. I feel so fortunate when I look at all the wonderful entries and think of the time and effort that went into creating them!

I love doing the Flash animations and used Adobe LiveMotion which is no longer being sold. Trying to find and then add the sounds where they seemed to have the most impact was what I found fun. I love the amount of action, color, sound and story you can get into Flash animation with a very small file size. The .gif animations are really the most difficult because it is so hard to get the color, the action and the smoothness all in one and still have a small file size.

Congratulations to all of us, and thank you, for making this another fun and interesting challenge. Thank you, Janee, for making all this happen for us.

Now the cats want me to take them for a fast ride!
