On Wednesday, August 13, 2003, my family and I set out for New York to visit the New York Botanical Garden. We had to ride about 3 and 1/2 hours to get to the Bronx from Warwick, Rhode Island.
The Botanical Garden is next door to the Bronx Zoo which we had visited 2 years before. This link will open a new window to the Garden page which will explain all there is to see and learn there. Sometimes this NY.org link doesn't work! New York Botanical Garden Luckily we had decided to take the trip on Wednesday and not on Thursday! Thursday was the day when there was an enormous Blackout and New York and surrounding areas were virtually paralyzed! You can see photos of theBronx Zoo trip done in August of 1999.
