It was such a beautiful day! Just perfect! It is reflected in the ponds and waterfall just a few steps away from my front door. After this long and harsh winter, it was welcome. The temperature was still cool, but the sky and sun magnificent.

While I was walking in this afternoon, I came upon my first sighting of the goslings of 2005.

Although they grow up to be mighty pests, they sure are cute now!

|
 |
My approach with the camera caused them to get up and move back into the water.

Five, well, they will return next year themselves and who knows how many more will come from them?

I do admire the parenting skills of the adult geese. Both parents surround the babies and herd them away from danger. In this situation, I am the present danger.

They head for the center of the small pond. (I say small because on the other side of the road is the other, larger pond.) Cedar Pond is made up of 2 ponds.

I have placed this image uncropped because I like the way the water is reflecting the colors of the springtime trees.

The proud parents and their family... The male, seen here with them, had left the water at one point to attack two other geese who seemed to him a danger to his family.

Just up from the ponds are these tulips. I see them every time I walk and this morning promised that I would come back in the afternoon to take their photo.

|
 |
The sunshine seems to make them glow.

It was just a week or two ago that the fountain was turned back on after the long winter. This is the larger pond with the clubhouse on the other side. In this photo you can see the tree buds beginning to show their promise of leaves for the summer.

All the spring colors against the blue sky...

The sun was shining down into the blossoms on this tree close to the smaller pond.

If you looked at the blizzard photos, you will remember this tree! Here is a link to it. Tree
Perhaps it would be fun to even look at the blizzard, now that it is May!
