My Walking Route

Directory map of Cedar Pond Drive
The directory above is a photograph of the one on the wall of a small shed as you enter the complex where I live. I have outlined the route I use most of the time, the orange for the walk out and the yellow for the return.. Sometimes I do take a turn and walk some of the other loops. There are 2 sections to Cedar Pond with 3 foot bridges. I always use the foot bridge at the back of the bigger pond, but not always the other two. The grounds are surrounded by woods on three sides, the fourth fronting on Rt.117, Centerville Road.

The large picture below gives a view from the footbridge I use each day. From here, you can see my apartment building just off center left in the distance.. The thumbnails below will be placed in the order of the usual walk. You should take a good look at the brick sentry post at the entrance /exit. I have found that once I reach it, if I give a bit of kick, I walk faster on the way home! Also, the reflection of my shoulder in the glass is visible. Noticing that, I went back and took a photo of my reflection in the glass. It is my picture of me walking.

Lately, there has been a cormorant present at Cedar Pond. I have some photos of him which can be seen here. Cormorant

I don't always follow the same route, choosing sometimes to try other loops and different directions., I use a Sportline Pulse Pedometer and am averaging about 1.20 miles per day in about 35 minutes. I walk in spirit with a group from myJanee, com

Go here to see the treadmills that can be used on a rainy or snowy day. It is the clubhouse at Royal Crest Estates. Exercise for a Stormy day
